LAUREL, Md. -

Jeanne Biog, a third grader at Scotchtown Hills Elementary School, is back home Wednesday after she didn't show up at her Laurel home Tuesday night.

Her family called police, who launched a massive search, with bloodhounds, a helicopter and police in cruisers and on foot patrol.

It turns out, Biog had left her sister and a friend after school and went to a park. Then she tells FOX 5, she left there and went back to school, where she slept in a girls’ bathroom, woke up in the morning and ate some cereal in the school cafeteria. That is where one of her sisters found her.

Berthe Moune, Biog’s aunt, says the little girl is somewhat of a loner. She was brought here four years ago from her native Cameroon after her mother died.

Police are still looking into the circumstances of how the girl disappeared and was later found.

Her family says they are working with counselors at her school and think grief may be a partial explanation for her going missing.
