How detox diets do a body good

A weekend of junk food binging or generally feeling unhealthy can make one consider detoxing.

Detox diets are especially popular with celebrities, like Gwyneth Paltrow, who went on an elimination diet after finding out she had anemia, high cortisol levels and a vitamin D deficiency.

For a few weeks, Paltrow cut out coffee, alcohol, dairy, eggs, sugar, shellfish, wheat, meat, potatoes, soy, corn and all processed foods.

Paltrow and her family primarily live on a gluten free diet and she does an elimination/detox diet a few times a year.

But can eliminating foods really help the body detox?

Dr. Robb Bird, with Transformyou Weight Loss Clinic, explains the benefits.
