GLENDALE, Ariz. -

A motorcyclist died after he ran into a pickup truck near Orangewood and 59th Avenues on Saturday afternoon.

Glendale police say the driver of a pickup truck was switching lanes when 44-year-old Roger Epperhart came up from behind on his motorcycle and collided with the back of the truck.

Epperhart was ejected and sustained life threatening injuries. According to officers, he was wearing a helmet.

Police say he was taken to a hospital and died Sunday morning.

The driver of the truck wasn't injured.

Police say they believe Epperhart was impaired and speeding, but can't confirm it yet.

Detectives from the Glendale Police Vehicle Crimes Unit are investigating.
