NW water main break fills construction site, submerges equipment

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

An early morning water main break on Saturday has completely filled a three-story-deep construction site at 17th and M Streets NW, submerging five pieces of heavy earth moving equipment.

Several streets have been shut down as water crews work to repair the broken 20-inch water main.

DC Water says the estimated repair time is 11:30pm Saturday.

Customers may experience a disruption in water service until repairs are complete.
