After speaking with police, Mandy Matula's brother published new details of her missing persons case on Facebook, saying suspect David Roe made a "goodbye" video and purchased a gun just last week.

Steven Matula also said the suicide note left in Roe's black Ford Escape said "check the phone."

His detailed post said that while DNA evidence indicates Mandy was in David's vehicle, there was no evidence of a physical fight in the vehicle, and the only blood in the vehicle belonged to David.

In addition, Steven said there wasn't reason to believe David and Mandy were in a physical fight as there were no bruises or scratches on David -- "Since we all know Mandy would give Dave hell if he laid a pinky on her," Steven's post read.

REPORTED MISSING, SUICIDE OUTSIDE POLICE HQ

Mandy Matula, 24, of Eden Prairie, Minn., has been missing since early Thursday. Her estranged boyfriend, 24-year-old David Roe, of Victoria, Minn., was about to be questioned when police said he shot himself in the city center parking lot.

The Hennepin County medical examiner confirmed Roe died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Steven Matula said investigators did not find any of Mandy's blood in Roe's SUV. While he personally believes this is a case of premeditated murder, he says police are looking at it from all directions.

Matula planned to search an area near Flying Cloud Airport and Grass Lake on Monday, with no law enforcement-organized search planned.

TIMELINE OF WHAT HAPPENED

Wednesday, May 1, 11:30 p.m.

Mandy Matula and David Roe were last seen leaving Matula's parents' home in Eden Prairie.

Thursday, May 2, 1:30 a.m.

When Matula's family contacted Roe the following morning, he told them by phone he dropped Matula off at Miller Park at 1:30 a.m. Police confirm no one has reported seeing him or Matula there.

Thursday May 2, 4 a.m.

Investigators say Roe purchased gas at a station in Maple Grove.

Thursday, May 2, 8:30 a.m.

Matula's parents reported her missing when she didn't show up for work at the Eden Prairie Public Works Department. During the course of the missing person investigation, police identified Roe as a person of interest and he agreed to speak with an investigator.

Thursday, May 2, 1:30 p.m.

Roe had come to the police station to cooperate with investigators but instead pulled out a handgun and shot himself in the parking lot before they could question him.

SEARCH FOR MANDY

Over the weekend, a group of dedicated volunteers also participated in the search for Matula, scanning numerous parks from Eden Prairie to north of St. Cloud.

Police detectives scoured parts of Stearns and Carver counties on Sunday, and family members say cell phone records show Roe was in the Stearns County area after he was last seen with Matula.

Eden Prairie Police confirmed searchers discovered an unfired piece of ammunition near County Road 4 and Scenic Heights Road Saturday morning. Volunteers also found several tissues with blood not far from where Matula was last seen with Roe, but police determined those were unrelated.

Late Sunday night, Lisa Matula took to Facebook to thank everyone for their time and effort

"Want to thank everyone that is helping find my daughter," she wrote. "I cannot believe how many people she has touched and people that do not even know her to give up your time to help find her. God bless all of you."

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Police are asking anyone who may have seen Matula to call them at 952-949-6200.

Friends told FOX 9 News Matula and Roe had been in a long-term relationship that recently ended.

Matula and Roe were both Eden Prairie high school graduates. He attended St. Thomas for a while and she was a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
