100,000 trees replanted in Kaibab National Forest

JACOB LAKE, Ariz. -

In northern Arizona, crews are restoring forest land left bare by a wildfire seven years ago.

They've planted more than a 100,000 ponderosa pine trees in the Kaibab National Forest.

The seedlings are put into the ground each year after the snow melts and before it gets too hot.

A million trees have been planted on more than 3,000 acres charred by the Warm Fire in 2006.

In all, that fire scorched 60,000 acres near Jacob Lake.
