LAUREL, Md. -

Prince George's County police say a disabled woman was found unharmed in a Laurel apartment where the woman's mother and a man died.

Police say a nurse who cares for the 25-year-old disabled woman found her mother and the man about 8:15 a.m. Thursday during a routine visit. Investigators say the two victims suffered trauma to the upper body and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims have been identified as 45-year-old Tina Towler and 42-year-old James Vell Ferguson.

Authorities say the deaths are being investigated as homicides. Investigators say neighbors reported hearing loud voices in the home about 5 a.m. and detectives are working to find a suspect and a motive.

Police say the disabled woman has been taken to a local hospital for observation.
