Laughter Is Best Medicine For College Student Suffering From Disease

A local college student who suffers from a debilitating disease is proving laughter is the best medicine.

Blogger Shane Burcaw has spinal muscular atrophy, a form of muscular dystrophy that has confined him to a wheelchair since he just 2-years-old.

Shane relies on others for almost everything. But despite the insurmountable challenges he faces, the 20-year-old lives each day with a smile.

And while his disease is no laughing matter, Shane says it's the laughter that has helped his family rise above it.
