BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) -

There was a big surprise from Google at Andover High School in Bloomfield Hills on Wednesday.  Student Dakota Jones is in the running to be this year's "Doodle 4 Google" winner.

The annual "Doodle 4 Google" program allows students from elementary to high school to redesign Google's home page logo.

This year, Google asked students to use their artistic talents to create a logo around a theme titled "My Best Day Ever."  Jones chose "beekeeping".

"Since maybe like middle school, I always wanted to keep bees just because I think it's a very fun hobby," Jones said.  "It also helps the planet because they're such a big part of our pollination process, and they're really like one of the building blocks for everything that we rely on."

You can vote for Dakota Jones at www.google.com/doodle4google.

The winner will see his or her artwork on Google's home page, receive a $30,000 scholarship and a $50,000 technology grant for their school.
