PHILADELPHIA -

You could see sparks flying in the  surveillance video as Philadelphia police say a cold blooded killer fired off 22 rounds from an AK-47 rifle.

Investigators say the gunman took aim at two men walking down 7th and Venango on April 6th.

A 42-year-old man was wounded in the leg. Police say 36-year-old James Tyrone Rosser died after he was shot multiple times.

His family Wanda Yun, heartbroken.

"He's ripped the family to pieces, " she said of the gunman. "He took a good life,  someone who shouldn't have been taken."

One week after Rosser was killed by the gun toting crook. Police believe the same man  struck just four blocks away. This time firing off 23 shots.

Police say he took  aim and wounded   two men standing on the corner of 7th and Clearfield.

Children pointed out where bullet holes have scarred homes and restaurants.

Police don't have motive...but they've used ballistics to tie the two assault rifle crimes together.

"It has no purpose or place in our city," said Commissioner Charles Ramsey referencing the AK-47. You would think you're looking at Iraq instead of Philadelphia. It's crazy. Absolutely insane "

A makeshift memorial now marks the spot at 7th and Venango  where Wanda Yun's cousin was gunned down.

Her family just hoping the assault rifle toting crook is caught.
