Fire crews investigate 'suspicious' mobile home fire

PHOENIX -

Phoenix fire crews are investigating a "suspicious" fire at a mobile home park near 7th Street and Baseline Road late Thursday night.

Fire officials say a neighbor called in the fire just before 11 p.m. and when fire crews arrived, the back of the trailer was engulfed in flames.

They also say the trailer was vacant and had no electricity or gas, which is why firefighters are calling the blaze suspicious.

Luckily firefighters were able put out the flames out before it spread to another home.

"We had a second company to help with that to make sure we didn't have any extension..we did have a problem with a little extension to a shed that was between two units, but we were able to stop it there," said Dan Crowley with Phoenix Fire Department.

The cause of the blaze still under investigation.
