Lawrenceville home destroyed by fire

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Fire officials in Gwinnett County say a blaze has destroyed a house in Lawrenceville.

Lt. Colin Rhoden, Gwinnett County fire department spokesman, says firefighters were called to the blaze Wednesday afternoon and parts of the home collapsed while firefighters worked to contain the fire.

Rhoden says four engines and a ladder truck responded to the home, and a family of 5 has been displaced.

Rhoden says no injuries were reported and 2 of the family's pet cats have not been recovered.
