DETROIT (WJBK) -

For the second time in less than two weeks, a DDOT bus has been hit by a driver who allegedly ran a stop sign.

Wednesday's accident happened on Detroit's west side.  We're told a woman was driving a silver Ford westbound on Van Buren Road when she ran a stop sign and hit the bus.

The bus driver lost control and hit a tree in a front yard.

"It was like a big boom.  I thought something had hit my house.  It woke me up," said witness Shilika Hurd.  "I called my sister.  I was looking out the window.  I was like there is a bus out here on the yard."

Several passengers were hurt along with the woman driving the car.  We're told their injuries are not life-threatening.

Another city bus was hit April 16 when a driver reportedly ran a red light.
