Simon Fashion Bow Wow features student creations

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

This Friday night a catwalk is becoming a dog-walk as a unique fashion show pairs models with pooches. It's called the Simon Fashion Bow Wow, and it's a design competition for students at Bauder College featuring adoptable dogs from Pets Are Loving Support (P.A.L.S.).

The human models include Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken.

Latasha Lane graduates from Bauder College in July, but she already sounds like a seasoned designer.

"Simon Bow Wow. I was actually introduced to it by Mrs. Green, my professor. She told me a little bit about it and said she thinks it would be a good opportunity for me," said Lane.

The runway show features designs by Bauder College students. It's a competition, which means whatever the model is wearing better work it!

"Basically own the garment. Have the confidence, the level of confidence, and just own the garment," Lane said.

Unfortunately for Lane, Paul Milliken is her model. What happens if he should fall flat on his face?

"I would probably die," said Lane.

Models are measured from every imaginable angle to turn a sketch into a fashion success. It takes weeks of work but Lane says she is living her dream.

"I was, you know, dressing up my Barbies, and all of that, definitely," said Lane.

You can see how Lane's design for Paul turns out -- and if they win -- when he walks the runway Friday night. Simon Fashion Bow Wow begins at 7 p.m. at Lenox Square Mall. Each model will bring along a dog from P.A.L.S., and there will be a silent auction to benefit the organization.
