GAITHERSBURG, Md. -

Gaithersburg Police are investigating a possible abduction attempt on a 14-year-old boy.

The teen was jogging along Midsummer Drive at around 7 p.m. Monday when a man jumped out of a white van and tried to grab him. The teen fought the suspect off and then ran to his home along Upshire Circle to call police. He was not harmed.

The victim provided police with a description of the suspect. There is a lookout for a Hispanic male, 6' to 6'1 tall, muscular build, short hair, with a round face, a goatee and sideburns.

The white delivery-style van is described as having red trim and tinted windows with no back doors. It appeared to be an older model Ford or Chevy.

Police say there may have been a second suspect inside the vehicle.
