Feds delay policy to allow knives on planes

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The federal government is putting the brakes on a plan to allow passengers to carry knives onto planes.

The TSA said last month it would start allowing small; folding knives and other items like souvenir baseball bats and golf clubs on planes.

The changes were set to take effect this week, but the head of the TSA said after meeting with a panel of aviation experts, he's decided to keep the ban in effect -- at least for now.

He didn't say when he might re-consider the issue.
