DC begins annual 'Potholepalooza' street repair

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

Officials in Washington are beginning their annual, monthlong campaign to fill in potholes.

Monday is the first day of the "Potholepalooza" campaign. For the next month the District Department of Transportation will work to repair identified potholes within 48 hours instead of its normal 72-hour response time.

This is the city's fifth Potholepalooza. Since the city began holding the annual events in 2009, the campaigns have filled 21,011 potholes. Residents and commuters can submit requests for pothole repairs by calling 311 or using an online form. They can also email or tweet the Department of Transportation.

How to Report a Pothole

Residents and Commuters can notify DDOT in a variety of ways:

1. Call the Mayor's Call Center at 311

2. Use the On-line Service Request Center at 311.dc.gov

3. Tweet to twitter.com/DDOTDC

4. Email to Potholepalooza@dc.gov

5. Use the District's new DC311 smartphone application

6. Post a comment on the Potholpalooza Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Potholepalooza
