The Jodi Arias trial first degree murder trial grinds on in Superior Court.  She's charged with stabbing, shooting and slashing her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, to death in 2008.

On Wednesday, Jodi's attorney tried to discredit and expert witness testifying for the prosecution.

The expert witness: clinical psychologist Janeen DeMarte.  She testified Jodi is very intelligent, has borderline personality disorder and an explosive temper.

Arias' attorney, Jennifer Willmott, tried to depict DeMarte as inexperienced, with a thin resume who reached the wrong conclusion about Jodi.

Arias attorneys claim she suffered from domestic abuse at the hands of Alexander and post traumatic stress syndrome.

DeMarte said her testing of Arias showed she had borderline personality disorder, but she admitted those same tests could also point to post-traumatic stress.

The defense attorney then suggested DeMarte doesn't understand much about domestic violence and hasn't studied it very deeply.

When asked if she could give any names of the articles she's read, DeMarte replied, "I do not commit them to memory."

"And you do not remember the name of the journal the article was published in?" asked the defense attorney.

DeMarte answered, "I did not look at the name of the journal."

DeMarte added that she "would not call myself an expert in domestic violence specifically."

The trial continues Thursday.
