50 new citizens naturalized

Posted: Updated:

People from all over the world gathered in Phoenix today to take part in a major celebration. There was an international potluck, poetry readings and musical performances -- all to celebrate more than 50 new U.S. Citizens.

The naturalization ceremony was held at All Saints' Episcopal Day School in Phoenix-- where students also participated, helping to sing the pledge of allegiance.

It was a proud day for those receiving their citizenship. Many said that it was long awaited and a very good feeling.

"It makes you realize that our founding country right now is based on a lot of immigrants that became naturalized immigrants you know, and what you have to do is move forward and keep your careers and goals in mind and stuff like that and sky's the limit," says new citizens Sam Walker.

People from over 2 dozen countries took the oath Tuesday at the naturalization ceremony.
