Road rage suspected in fatal east side shooting

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (myFOXDetroit.com) -

Detroit police say 32-year old Deon Tinsley was shot to death inside his car on Monday, April 15th.

Tinsley finished dropping his kids off at school and was picking up his stepfather for a planned trip to the grocery store. But the pair never made it to the store because, as the stepfather explains it, Tinsley was a victim of road rage.

"The car was blocking the street, and he wanted to get by. And the guy said something to him, and I guess words were exchanged, and a guy got out and shot him," Charles Styles told Fox 2.

Homicide detectives have not confirmed that story, though they are still investigating all possible motives. Police say Tinsley was shot at least seven times, so investigators believe the shooting was too personal to be an act of road rage.

Police do have a lead on a suspect, and sources say an arrest is expected to be made soon.
