The tax deadline is fast approaching!
You have until midnight tonight to get the forms in the mail, and while the internet has made filing taxes easier, this time of the year can still be stressful for some people.
Even once you get your taxes done, there's still that concern you'll get audited.
Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot says the best way to handle the last minute crunch and avoid an audit is to be prepared.
Franchot also encourage residents to use the resources available to them, to know what your options are if you end up owing money but cannot afford it.
Maryland's Comptroller says interest and penalties can be waived for people on a case by case basis. Individuals should contact his office to discuss their specific case.
