Lightning believed to be cause of fire at Marietta home

MARIETTA, Ga. -

Authorities believe lightning may have sparked a fire at home in Marietta on Thursday.

Crews battled the blaze a house on Sweat Creek Run. Everyone in the home was able to get out safely, according to fire officials.

The fire did not spread to the rest of the house or to any adjoining homes.

In a related incident, fire crews believe lightning may have also sparked a fire at a home on Oak Hampton Way in Duluth. They say there was not much damage, and no one was hurt.
