Gaming Control Board Still Deciding On Philly Casino Proposals

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board meetings began Thursday and are expected to continue Friday to discuss proposals to build a new casino in Philadelphia.

The meetings, where are being held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, offer the public a chance to ask questions to the six casino applicants.

There of the bidders have said they want to build casinos in South Philly, near the stadium complex while two have plans for casinos downtown.

One bidder has offered a plan for the Delaware riverfront.

State lawmakers say a second casino license, regardless of which bidder wins the license, will provide an economic boom to the city.

The gaming control board is scheduled to hold another round of casino hearings in late summer.
