A 50-year-old Dearborn man is dead after an early morning crash on eastbound I-696 at Mound Road in Warren.
Michigan State Police say the crash happened at 5:30 a.m. when the driver of a 1997 Saturn sedan lost control and hit a concrete wall. The Saturn spun off the wall and careened back into traffic where it was hit by a semi-truck.
Using the Jaws of Life, the driver of the Saturn was removed from the vehicle by the Warren Fire Department. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Investigators say seatbelt use and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident should contact the Michigan State police at 248-595-1725.
