PHILADELPHIA -

Police say more than a dozen students were arrested after officers broke up a large fight in the heart of Center City Tuesday.

The fight was first reported around 4 p.m. in the area of Chestnut and 16th streets. Police say the fighting at one point spanned 15th to 17th streets.

The fight overall involved as many as 200 kids, police said.

It's not yet clear what caused the fight but it doesn't appear anyone was seriously injured.

Police have since opened up the area around 16th and Chestnut to traffic.

A witness tells FOX 29's Shawnette Wilson dozens of kids were seen running towards Broad Street when the fight started.
