Man Buys 'Toy Poodles,' Learns They're Ferrets On Steroids

Posted: Updated:

(FOX 11 / MyFoxBoston.com) A man from Argentina thought he had purchased "toy poodles," but later discovered they were ferrets on steroids.

The Huffington Post reports the victim bought each so-called dog for $150 at La Salada market, however, when he brought them to a veterinarian, he learned they were actually rodents.

Argentineans call ferrets given steroids at birth to increase their size and then groomed "Brazilian rats."

Another woman said she was tricked into buying what she thought was a Chihuahua, but that also turned out to be a ferret.
