ATLANTA (WJBK) -

At Michigan, tailgating is usually reserved for football games, but that is not the case when the Wolverines are playing for their first basketball title in nearly 25 years.

"Is this the first time that you've ever tailgated for a Michigan basketball game?" I asked one fan.

"Yes, definitely for a Michigan basketball game.  Lots of football games, but first time for basketball," she said.

Never mind the 700 mile drive from Ann Arbor or the fact that many students had classes today.  They weren't about to miss an opportunity to see their team win it all.

"I skipped a whole day of work to be here," said one student, who works in the South Quad dorm cafeteria.

"This is senior year.  We're graduating in literally three weeks.  The best moment ever.  This is the best it could have been for senior year. It's amazing," another student remarked.

Most of the students in Atlanta were just toddlers when the Fab Five played in the last championship game, but for others this is a shot at redemption.

"20 years ago I graduated from high school, so I was a senior when the Fab Five was breaking my heart.  My junior and senior year, I saw them lose the national championship two straight years, which was heart breaking," one person said.

"We're choking them out tonight.  I'm telling you.  Go Blue, baby!  We're choking them out.  Listen to me here.  Go Blue!  Go Blue!" another fan exclaimed.

We met more than a couple of people that didn't want to be on camera because they called in sick to work.

Speaking of the Fab Five, four of them will be together at the game.  They have been pleading with Chris Webber to try to get him to the game.  He lives in Atlanta.  There is still no word on whether or not they will all be reunited for this one.
