Mayor Gray presented his 2014 budget to the DC Council Monday.
The Mayor laid out plans to spend 10.1 billion dollars next year. Most council member appeared to support the Mayors initial plan. Chairman Phil Mendelson expressed concerns about revenue generated from traffic enforcement cameras. Gray said he supports the cameras when it comes to public safety and is asking for funding to purchase 91 additional cameras to be placed across the city. DC Councilmembers will discuss the proposed budget during committee hearings over the next month. A final vote is expected in late May.
