DC Police arrested a suspect in connection with a sexual assault at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in northwest D.C.
Sixty-year-old David Millard of Honolulu, Hawaii, is charged with Kidnapping and First Degree Sexual Abuse.
Court documents say the victim was at the Grand Slam Sports Bar inside the hotel with some friends. It says the woman was drinking and left one of two shots she had consumed unattended while she went outside to smoke.
The report says when the woman returned. She told friends she was going to the hotel lobby to make a phone call. She never came back.
According to the documents, Millard says he saw the woman "sprawled out" and thought she looked unsafe.
He says he asked her if she needed somewhere to sleep. And even though she was unresponsive, he thought a grunt sound she made was a "yes" to his question.
Millard then reportedly carried the victim to the elevator, and to his second floor room where he sexually assaulted her.
Some hotel staff witnessed him carrying her and video cameras also captured it. The victim's friends called police when they couldn't find her.
One guest tells FOX 5 police combed the hotel looking for the woman.
The victim told police she woke up naked and in bed with Millard. She says when she left, he followed her to the lobby and that's where police found both of them.
Millard admitted to the assault. He is charged with kidnapping and sexual abuse. He is being held in jail until his next court date on Monday.
