It was tense as SWAT team members descended on a Feltonville neighborhood Thursday morning, along with an armored personnel carrier, following reports of a woman pointing a gun from her home at four students.

"There's some confrontation over the kids interacting with the dogs," Chief Inspector Joseph Sullivan told reporters. "The children are alleging that a rifle, a long weapon was pointed at them."

"Terrifying for the kids, know what I mean, the neighborhood," one neighbor told FOX 29.

The situation unfolded near three schools that were immediately locked down. Streets were blocked off and anxious parents raced to the scene to check on their children.

"I'm really worried considering what happened at the other school in Connecticut," Jessica Pagan said.

"They did this little noise. We're on lock down," another parent who was inside the school told reporters.

"Everybody was scared," one mother said.

Using a state of the art robot as their eyes inside the house, SWAT and police negotiators stood at the ready, within a few minutes, the home was cleared.

"We utilized the robot to search the house from top to bottom," Chief Sullivan explained.

"There will be a search warrant and investigation done by the East Detective Division to find out what really happened," said Chief Inspector Cynthia Dorsey of the school police.

An hour later, the woman who lives here returned home. Police took her in for questioning. Her husband says it's all a big mistake.

"I don't have any guns," he told reporters gathered on his front porch.

"The police investigated the situation and they found out it was not true," said Hector Delgado, the woman's pastor says she was actually not at home when the incident occurred. She was preaching door-to-door with several other people from her church, including Delgado.

Neighbors on the block who know the couple quickly came to their defense.

"Totally out of character for them," a neighbor told FOX 29.

Detectives waited for a search warrant to check for the gun, neighbors summed up the day this way.

"It's scary. It's scary."

Police continue to investigate. They have cleared the woman who lived in the home. No charges have been filed.
