Mother: 2-year-old son missing for hours after being left behind by daycare at Chuck E. Cheese's

WASHINGTON -

A mother was reunited with her son at his daycare Wednesday evening after she says staffers at the Early Childhood Learning Center in Southeast D.C. left her 2-year-old son alone at a Chuck E. Cheese’s in Laurel for hours.

Corena West says they failed to include her son, Bryant, in their headcount when they left the restaurant at lunch time with the rest of the kids. They didn't realize Bryant was missing until they returned to the daycare at around 2 p.m.

Corena says from that point, it took them more than two hours to contact her and let her know there was a problem.

She says she finally located her son after an officer from the Laurel Police Department contacted her. They told her they found the 2-year-old alone at the Chuck E. Cheese’s and took him back to the station.

After they figured out who his mother was, officers brought Bryant back to Corena at the daycare.

FOX 5 tried to reach out to the Early Childhood Learning Center for comment, but received no response.
