Police investigate shots fired call at Mesa apartment

Posted: Updated:
MESA, Ariz. -

The SWAT team was called to the Greenleaf Vista apartment complex near University and Val Vista Tuesday morning about shots fired from a unit.

When officers arrived at the scene, they knocked on the door, but no one came out.

About 15 minutes later, a man did emerge from the unit and did not cooperate, according to officers.

No blood was found in the apartment, but they did find weapons and evidence of fired rounds.

The man was taken into custody and will most likely be charged with disorderly conduct and mishandling of a handgun.  His name was not released.

Authorities do not have a motive for the shooting at this time.

Prior to the officers' arrival, there were other people in the apartment.  They left the area and police are not looking for them.

No injuries were reported.
