DETROIT (WJBK) -

Sources said a Detroit police officer's son was shot Monday night on the city's east side.

According to investigators, the 32-year-old man, who lives on the 10000 block of Somerset, heard a knock at his door.  The victim said he opened the door to a stranger and asked the man what he wanted.  The suspect did not respond, but instead pointed a gun and opened fire.

Neighbors said they heard four shots.  The victim ran to a neighbor's house and was taken to the hospital where we're told he is stable.
