GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

It was a homecoming thousands had been waiting for the last few months. The parents of Tripp Halstead tell FOX 5 News that they are overwhelmed that their little boy is back at home.

Good Friday brought the return of little Tripp home five months to the day after a branch fell on the young boy. His recovery was complicated by an infection, but he was finally healthy enough to go home.

Bill and Stacy Halstead spoke with FOX 5's Chris Shaw after the first period of the Gwinnett Gladiators game on Saturday. They say his return home brings a new sense of normalcy to their lives.
