Operation Wedding winners choose flowers, music

ATLANTA -

It's hard to keep up with Staff Sergeant Ancil Christopher and his bride to be Tamika Russell. In anticipation of their April wedding, they've already toured the venue -- the beautiful Ashton Gardens in Sugar Hill.

They've also picked invitations, and with the help of Russell's mother and bridesmaids, they've chosen the dress.

But while her fiance works on other aspects of the big day, Russell soldiers on. She and Ancil's mother met with Dana Hacman of Hacman Floral to go over decorations. Hacman Floral specializes in unique and elegant designs.

For her special day, Russell wants a Garden of Eden feel. Both Hacman and Russell and her future mother-in-law feel it won't be hard to deliver.

"I'm so happy for Tamika and Ancil. I love the fact that we get Ashton Gardens as a venue. It's so wonderful here," said Iris Christopher, mother of the groom.

But what's a party without music? That's where Spectrum Entertainment comes in.

"Think of it this way. The DJ  is the quarterback of the whole entire production. We're not coming up with the game plan, but we don't want to fumble the ball, right," said Matt Osborn of Spectrum Entertainment.

Osborn walked Russell through their online system that allows her and Ancil to set their wedding day playlist.  She's already warned him, because of Ancil's heritage, Soka music must be on repeat.

There is much left to do, such as choosing the dinner menu and the all important cake!

On top of all the wedding details, Russell is also participating in the Super Hero 5K Sprint, which benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Henry County. It's this Saturday, and begins at Newsole Running at 1315 McDonough Parkway in McDonough. Registration starts at 8 a.m. To download a registration form, click here!
