Ga., South Korea create cultural exchange program

Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Department of Education officials are set to establish a cultural exchange program with South Korean leaders.

Department of Education Spokesman Matt Cardoza says State Schools Superintendent John Barge will sign a memorandum of understanding Monday with South Korean Vice Minister of Education Ha Tae-Yun to establish the exchange program.

Officials say 26 public school teachers from South Korea will visit schools in Georgia as part of the exchange.

Barge and Tae-Yun are expected to make formal statements on the program after signing the document at 10 a.m. in the Georgia Department of Education State Board Room.
