Spring Storm Moves Out, Temps In The 50s By End Of Week

PHILADELPHIA -

A storm that dropped several inches of snow Monday has left many wondering when it will begin to feel like spring.

Drivers were greeted with snow during the morning commute and wet, slushy conditions on the drive home Monday night.

In Philadelphia, FOX 29 Meteorologist Caitlin Roth says 1.1 inches of snow fell in the area, but due to the above freezing temperatures, much of it didn't stick to the roadways. In Atlantic City, 1.9" of snow fell at the airport, which marks a record for March 25.

Snow totals around our area:

 - Glenmoore, Pa.: 4.5"

 - Royersford, Pa.: 3.8"

 - Hockessin, Del. 3.3"

 - Newport, N.J.: 3.0"

 - Philadelphia, Pa.: 1.1"

By Monday night, only some lingering showers remained for the Philadelphia area, as much of the snow had made its way to the Jersey Shore and parts of Delaware. By 2 a.m. Tuesday, the storm is expected to have moved out of our area.

For Tuesday morning, the drive in to work will be much more calm compared to Monday, however, we could still see some slick spots as temperatures will only be in the low 30s. Although the storm will have been out of our area for several hours, lingering showers and possibly some flurries are expected for Tuesday afternoon.

As for the rest of the week, we'll start to see a slow, gradual warm up. You can expect mostly cloudy skies on Wednesday, but by Thursday, we should start to see the sun,with temperatures in the low 50s.

On Friday, we can expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures nearing 54. The weekend will feel a little more like spring, with temperatures in the mid-50s.
