That's the reaction from one season ticket holder who allows her 13-year-old alone in Disneyland on afternoons when she is at work.
But no more.
The Walt Disney Company unveiled a new admission policy requiring kids under 14 at any US-based theme park be accompanied by someone who is at least fourteen, saying that "this puts their policy in line with the company's other amusement parks."
Disney's policy goes into effect this Saturday.
Up until now, there was no age policy for admission at Disneyland, and other Disney theme parks had different policies, said Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown.
"We wanted to make (the policies) consistent," Brown said. The change was not prompted by any issues or incidents, she said.
"We regularly review all of our policies and identified an opportunity to provide a consistent age of admission and address a question we occasionally get from parents," Brown added.
"It is a different world" for a parent who would not let her 12-year-old girls alone in the park, but who admits, "I was allowed alone in the park when I was that age."
A quick check of other local parks like Knott's and Six Flags shows they don't have such an age policy.
The new policy will be enforced only against children who appear to be younger than 14, because few children have identification with their birth dates.
Certain projects, such as adding a well thought-out family room can be a wise investment, as they do add to the value of the home. Other projects, however, allow little opportunity to recover the costs when it's time to sell.
