COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities in Cobb County say two people were killed Monday in an accident on Interstate 575, and traffic was shut down for some time due to the investigation.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-575 just north of Chastain Road.  Investigators say a red Chrysler Town & Country SUV came across the median from the northbound lanes and hit an industrial truck head-on.

The driver of the truck was not hurt, but two people inside the SUV were killed.  Their identities have not yet been released.

There's no word from authorities on what caused the SUV to cross the median into oncoming traffic.
