TUCSON, Ariz. -

Authorities have arrested one of two suspects who have allegedly committed over 60 burglaries in the Tucson area since December.

Officials say 38-year-old Charles P. Spear was arrested, but another suspect is still on the loose. Spear was easily recognized because of the mask he wears to cover a disfigurement on his lower face.

According to authorities, evidence from two distinct people have been found at the robberies, causing them to believe Spear has an accomplice of some sort.

Although, officials haven't been able to tie the two suspects together at the same crime scene.

Police departments in Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana and the Pima County Sheriff's Department have been investigating a series of burglaries that have been happening since December.

Each break-in has occurred in a similar way. First the suspect throws a rock through the glass door of a business, then he jumps the counter and rummages through drawers and desks and the suspect eventually leaves with cash or other valuables.

The damage caused to businesses handled by PCSO alone is between $12,000 and $15,000.

Officers are calling these suspects the "Monkey Burglar" because of the way they jump over the counter.

Call 911 or 88-CRIME with any information.
