CLINTON, Md. -
An off-duty D.C. police officer was involved in a shooting outside of his own home Friday.
The incident happened on Vienna Drive in Clinton, Md. shortly after 8:00 a.m.
Authorities say the officer caught a subject trying to steal his personal car when the shooting occurred.
The officer fired several shots at the subject as he tried to drive away in the car. Ths suspect then ran from the car, through the neighborhood into a waiting car.
It is unsure if the subject was struck.
The officer was not injured. His 9-year-old daughter was in the car when the man first jumped in the officer's car. She jumped from the car and was not injured.
