NOGALES, Ariz. -

A legal permanent resident living in Tucson was arrested for trying to smuggle $393,000 in meth into the country.

22-year-old Jesus Roberto Castro-Lopez, of Mexico, was referred to an additional inspection at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry.

A drug-sniffing canine allegedly alerted to the presence of drugs in his Lincoln SUV, and a CBP officer found 20 packages of methamphetamine.

The meth weighed nearly 25.5 pounds.

The drugs and vehicle were processed and Castro-Lopez was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
