Thieves using tow trucks to take cars on Near West Side

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Chicago Police have issued an alert to Near West Side residents, warning that thieves using tow trucks have been taking older cars off the streets at night.
In the alert, issued for the Near West Side Ogden District, police urge residents to pay special attention to tow trucks that may illegally take older-model vehicles off the street.
As of Tuesday morning there was no physical description of the offender or offenders.
Police advise that auto owners try to park their vehicles in well-lit areas and that any suspicious activity be reported to 911.
