Family seek answers in death of 18-year-old man

Posted: Updated:

Grieving family members say they won't stop until they get answers in the death of an 18-year-old man shot and killed this past Christmas Eve.

Police say the search for the gunman that shot and killed Joshua Watson continues. Sunday, family members gathered at the Stewart-Lakewood Shopping Center on Lakewood Avenue to rally support to bring the shooter to justice.

Watson was killed in the parking lot of that southwest Atlanta shopping center on December 24, 2012 while walking home from the nearby Lakewood MARTA station. He had just gotten off his job as a parking attendant at the airport and was headed home to spend Christmas with his family when he was fatality shot. Police say robbery is the apparent motive as he was not found with his wallet.

Watson was a junior deacon at his church and had hoped to study at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
