The executive director of the Illinois High School Association says he is "embarrassed" by the Class 2A boys basketball title game, which ended with a confrontation between the losing coach and at least one fan.
Harrisburg beat South Holland Seton Academy 50-44 on Saturday night for the championship.
Seton Academy's Mark Weems Jr. was tossed in the second quarter after being called for a technical foul for unsportsmanlike conduct. And the teams were given police escorts to their buses after Seton Academy coach Brandon Thomas had a verbal exchange with a fan.
IHSA Executive Director Marty Hickman said Saturday in a statement that "the lessons on display tonight were that respect and sportsmanship are not important."
The association says it is reviewing the events and will contact the schools Monday.
