CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. -

A new 5-year-old rescue dog named "Heidi" is helping a Chester County family to heal after their two dogs were shot and killed last month.

Mary Bock posted a photo on her Facebook page of the new dog. She says Heidi is helping her family to heal after losing their other two dogs.

"She came to us Friday, spent Saturday at the doggie spa and its been nothing but...love ever since!" she wrote.

The two dogs, Argus and Fiona, were shot when they got out of their nearby yard and roamed onto a Chester Springs man's property.

The man, 72-year-old Gabriel Pilotti, now faces charges.

Pilotti recently spoke to FOX 29 after the shooting. He apologized to the family and asked them for their forgiveness.
