PHOENIX -
After making history in Daytona last weekend, all eyes were on NASCAR driver Danica Patrick during the Subway Fresh Fit 500.
The female driver has more fans than ever in Phoenix.
The day didn't go as planned for Patrick.
She got in a nasty crash but walked away physically okay.
Despite coming in 39th, Patrick has a huge following in Phoenix, especially the young fans can't get enough of her.
She may be a rookie, but Danica Patrick is dominating the NASCAR scene.
The line for the Go Daddy driver's merchandise was longer than anyone else's.
Little girls like 8-year-old Mia Delville will proudly tell you who their favorite driver is.
"Definitely number 10," said Delville.
Even long time fans are putting Patrick in high demand.
"She's kind of a pioneer for women in the racing field. I have a lot of respect for her," said Dorothy Byrne, NASCAR fan.
In her last race, Patrick became the first woman to lead a lap in the Daytona 500, but what a difference a week can make.
Sunday a tire blew and she slammed into the walls of PIR.
"I think that was really bad for her," said Delville.
"I feel bad for her 'cause she gets smashed a lot by other guys. I'm sorry she didn't get to finish," said Byrne.
The road to a woman winning may seem long but seeing number 10 fight through her frustrations now will make victory even sweeter.
"I'm just gonna feel really, like, happy," said Delville.
"It will be fantastic, I hope it happens soon," said Byrne.
Patrick was able to walk away uninjured.
