YUMA, Ariz. -

A 28-year-old man was arrested on several charges after allegedly fleeing from police and colliding with two vehicles on Saturday afternoon.

Yuma police say a detective tried to pull Marcos Medina over for a traffic violation but when he approached Medina's vehicle, he took off.

After nearly colliding with a second patrol car, police say Medina lost control of his vehicle near 2nd Avenue and 5th Street.

Medina allegedly collided with a parked car and a parked motor scooter, causing substantial damage to both vehicles.

Police say Medina fled on foot, but was caught shortly after.

Medina had minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Medina was taken into custody and booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault on police, criminal damage, possession of dangerous drugs, aggravated DUI, endangerment, and reckless driving.
