Pedestrian seriously injured in crash - DC Breaking Local News Weather Sports FOX 5 WTTG

A pedestrian has serious injuries after being hit by a car near 74th Street and Shea Boulevard Friday morning.

Police say a woman in her 50's was walking in the crosswalk on Shea Boulevard when a vehicle turning left hit her.

The woman was taken to a hospital was serious and life-threatening injuries. Her identity hasn't been released.

The roadway was closed for five hours while police investigated.

Citations are pending the outcome of the investigation.

Alcohol impairment isn't a factor in the collision, police say.
