WWII B-29 on display at Mesa Gateway Airport

Posted: Updated:
MESA, Ariz. -

A historic World War II plane arrived at Mesa Gateway Airport on Thursday.

The famous B-29 Superfortress is the only one in the world still flying.

Several other historic military airplanes will also be on display during the CAF Airpower History Tour.

The B-29 Superfortress is being flown in by the third female pilot to ever fly a B-29.

"This type of aircraft changed the course of history and we need to get her out in front of the public. We're a flying museum, we're losing veterans everyday and I find it incredibly important to remember them," said Debbie King, B-29 pilot.

The 3-day event starts Friday and goes through Sunday at the Mesa Gateway Airport.
